We are a group of diving enthusiasts working to add items to the existing San Diego Underwater Recreation Area (SDURA) and the Mission Bay Artificial Reef (MBAR). The focus of our efforts are to encourage dive travel to San Diego and help restore depleating fish populations.
We are working together to create Dive Sites. The first is to be Underwater Art in the form of the Guardian Statue by Simon Morris. We will also build on this art by working with the City of San Diego to display underwater art. We also will create Diver attraction devices using Tanks, Armored Personnel Carriers and Concrete and other items.

Our Projects include:
GUARDIAN SCULPTURE by Simon Morris - A 13 foot high statue to be placed off the coast of Mission Beach. But before it is sunk it will be on display on land in the bay area. This will provide needed publicity for San Diego and Scuba Diving.
City of San Diego Original Underwater Art Project - We are proposing a plan to have a unique piece of art created for sinking. The art project will be advertised and we will review the entrants and work with the City to chose the art. Placed on display above water for a period of time this will build on the publicity created by the Guardian of the Reef.
Tank Program - ReefEx has sunk over 2000 tanks on the East Coast as fishing locations. We in San Diego are building on this program from New Jersey to take surplus tanks located in California and using them to create unique dive sites that are available no where else in the world.
