About 8 years ago the Yukon Project worked to create a new and exciting 450 acre underwater park (SDURA). The first addition to this park would be the Canadian Destroyer Escort... Yukon. This ship has become an ongoing diver attraction device providing a site for over 11,0000 dives a year! The SDURA was created to allow for more items to be added at later time. Our plan is to create even more interesting dive locations in the SDURA. The first of these items will be a large bronze statue called the Guardian by artist Simon Morris. Mr. Morris is famous for two other pieces of underwater art in Grand Cayman and Canada. Amphitrite, Siren of Sunset Reef another sculpture of Simon Morris, has helped make the Sunset House in the Grand Cayman Islands one of the most popular dive sites in the world. It was reported to have received over $300,000.00 in free advertising in the first year. We will continue this program by creating a unique dive site with Military Tanks and Armor from the Vietnam era. These items are planned to be displayed in the San Diego bay area for tourists & non divers to enjoy before sinking them in their final underwater location.
